Abraham Salazar, Athletic Director from Oakland Unity High School, was awarded the 2025 Norm MacKenzie Award.

The award was presented at the 2025 California State Athletic Directors Association (CSADA) Conference.

Norm MacKenzie Award
The candidate shall be an active athletic administrator who is recognized in the community as an educational leader and who maintains athletics as an integral part of the total education program. He/She shall administer an exemplary athletic program making full use of school and community resources and involving as many students as possible.

The candidate must have completed a minimum of one (1) year and no more than four (4) years as an active athletic director.
The candidate shall have made a significant impact on the lives of students.
The candidate shall have used athletics as a catalyst to achieve some demonstrable progress in the social and cultural environment of the school and/or community.
